Kings do us proud at 2009 Junior Club Challenge
Our club made a huge committment and entered teams in under 12 - 14 - 16 Girls and under 12 - 14 - 16 Boys at this year's inaugural Club Challenge event in Geelong in what was a fantastic tournament enjoyed by everyone who participated.
In total about 45 teams played in the tournament this year and this number will surly swell next year as the event's good name and success spreads throughout basketball circles...
With teams from Warrnambool, Eltham, Woodend, Werribee, Torquay, Bellarine, Corio Bay and Geelong all entered it was awesome to see our club participate so intensely.
In the end our under 12 boys played a close game in the final against Pivot City to end up runners up 30 - 38 while the under 16 girls came up against a strong Geelong Sharks outfit to also end up runners up 13 - 30, well done to both teams on your efforts and congratulations to all of the Kings coaches, parents and players who put in a wonderful effort all weekend...
