The South Geelong Kings are proud to announce two of our Divsion 1 under 14 players and representative basketball players Brad Mayes and Jacob Pupavac have been selected into the Country Academy for 2009. The boys worked hard to impress the Country Victorian Coaches in 46 degree heat with the two Jake's (Jacob Pupavac and Jake Williamson) vying for the bottom age squad and Brad the top age squad.



This is Brad's second year with the Academy at under 14 level with Jacob joining him in his first year in the bottom age group. These two have a habit of turning their basketball into success with both winning various MVP and Coaching awards at junior level as well as representative level, both having won under 12 Division 1 championships and State Division 2 titles as well as tournaments in under 12 and now under 14 age groups.



This year Jacob joins Brad in being selected in his first year to attend the prestigious Gold Nugget Camp in October 2009, (where Brad was selected last year and successfully made the State Team). The Country Victoria Squad will be selected from this camp consisting of 32 of the best young basketball players in country Victoria. Keep up the great work boys, your continued success and great attitude towards a game you both love while representing the South Geelong Kings is a credit to you both.
