Yesterday, the Victorian Government announced the further easing of restrictions from 11.59pm tonight, Thursday 17 June, with the following continued restrictions in place:
Face Coverings:
o Must be carried at all times
o Must be worn indoors except if at home or if a legal exception applies
o Must be worn outdoors where 1.5 metres physical distancing cannot be maintained
Community sport:
o Open for all ages, training and competition
o Limited to minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the activity (i.e. players, coaches) and must be within venue limits for indoor sports
o Spectators not allowed (excludes people necessary for events such as teachers, instructors, trainers, coaches, umpires, carers, parents and guardians)
o Maximum group size: 10 people (indoor sport)
Community Facilities:
o Open with a density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm
o Maximum venue capacity 150 people, including no more than 75 people indoors.
o Maximum group size: 10 people
Food and drink Venues:
o Open for seated service only with a maximum patron cap of 150 per venue, no more than 75 indoors (dependant on your venue size)
o Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies, maximum of 75 people indoors (venue would need to be 300sqm or more)
o Maximum group size: 10 people
What this means for us is that once AFL Vic and the EFNL provide their Return to Play Guidelines and the Maroondah Council approve our RTP plan, fixtured games will take place this Saturday 19 June and Sunday 20 June, however without spectators apart from the exclusions listed above.
Note no netball will take place on Friday given the indoor venues and density limits still imposed.
Please also note that all games this weekend are AWAY apart from the D4 U19’s and as such NO CANTEEN FACILITIES WILL OPERATE AT CHEONG this Saturday.
As has occurred previously we anticipate further change/announcements from State Government next week, assuming no deterioration, in the lead up to our home game fixture of June 26.
Under the density rules above we will have access to the rooms with very limited numbers next week – maximum 55 table service only – so a decision is yet to be made on what this will mean, but it’s unlikely that Thursday night meals will occur on 24 June.
The situation remains very fluid, and predominantly out of our direct control, so we thank you for your understanding and patience.
Join in on Facebook Live tonight at 8.30 pm for a further recap of these requirements.
