By now it’s likely you have all been across new restrictions announced by state government this morning.
Key aspects announced as they effect us were:
- Private gatherings in the home will be limited to five visitors per day
- Public gatherings will be limited to 30 people
- Face masks will need to be worn indoors, unless an exemption applies. Face mask requirement applies everyone aged 12 years and older.
- There are no changes to existing density rules.
- Use of the Service Victoria QR code service will still be mandatory in all venues and facilities required to have mandatory electronic record keeping from Friday, 28 May.
At time of issuance of this post there has been NO change announced on local and community sport, suffice to say that EVERYONE (players and supporters) needs to wear a mask in the social rooms/inside unless eating or drinking.
Team training can proceed however it’s important that we continue to check in and wear masks when possible (change rooms).
Thursday Night dinner will currently proceed, however with density limits and as mentioned mask wearing.
As we have seen in the past, the situation is fluid and this can change with very little notice so look out for any update from us on this front.
We ask that you keep looking out for state government/DHHS updates, while we pass on any specific and relevant EFNL information as it comes to hand.
Let’s hope that these new restrictions do not bite harder, and that there wont be major interruption to the season. We need to be on the ball and not lapse on QR code check-in as we enter the club rooms for any extended period of time – wearing a mask as appropriate.
As we head towards the winter months this is a timely reminder that COVID 19 is very much still wish us and we must remain vigilant.
