The club received some sad news about the passing of Andy O'Sullivan last night.
Andy was the first junior coach at South Croydon in 1969. He coached the under 16's which played the first ever game played for points against Montrose. He went on to coach the very first premiership in 1970 with the under 15's. The grand final was played at Mooroolbark against Wandin. South easily accounted for the Wandin boys winning by 12 goals.
There were players from this team who went on to play in other premierships; to win a club best and fairest; to be on the Committee's executive and become SCFC life members. Andy coached hundreds of kids in the juniors at South Croydon and he had a huge impact on a lot of South Croydon families.
Our condolences are extended to Andy’s wife Barbara and son Christopher.
