The Arndale Cup comes home! For the first time in over 12mths, all 3 sides had a win culminating in the seniors winning back the Arndale Cup in another hard fought encounter. Head to head, it is now Sth 9 ½ to Croydon 8 ½ .The reserves came home hard to record a comfortable victory, with the colts playing good football for 3 quarters, then hanging on in the last for a close win. Of course all this made for an excellent night at the Gala Ball/ Premiership reunion where about 240 players, supporters and past premiership legends danced and partied the night away….

The win was set up with a great first half of tough, hard at the ball footy with no backwards steps and a lead of 21pts. After the break, Croydon sent Cupido forward and looked dangerous as they quickly reduced the lead, but our boys hang in there to come away with a 7pt win and the Arndale Cup.

The reserves battled hard for most of the day, and inaccurate kicking found us only 6pts up at ¾ time. However in the last, a couple early goals took away Croydon’s fight and 8 goals straight made for a comfortable victory.

For the first 3 quarters, the boys finally got some consistency in their game, not easing off and letting the opposition get easy goals. Unfortunately they then let Croydon kick 7 last quarter goals to be right back in the game. Fortunately we held them off recording a 3pt win.
