The South Croydon Football Club is proud to announce the appointment of Ben De La Rue as Senior Coach for the 2010 season.
Ben’s wealth of knowledge and history of success as a player and coach will undoubtedly help our club continue its improvement through the ranks of the EFL.
As a junior player Ben played with the Dandenong Stingrays.
He then moved on to play senior football with Springvale from 1994 until 2001.
Ben was also on the Collingwood supplementary list in 1995.
In his time at Springvale Ben played in 3 premierships in the years 1996, 1998 and 1999.
After leaving Springvale Ben became a playing assistant coach of local rival and 1st division club Croydon for 2002 and 2003.
Ben then took over as playing senior coach of Croydon for 2004, 2005 and 2006.
For the years of 2007 and 2008 Ben was playing senior coach of R.O.C. Football Club in the Casey-Cardinia Division of the Mornington Peninsula Football League.
Bens understanding of the requirements of 1st division football along with a strong desire to be involved with a community based football club will no doubt ensure continued success on the field for our club.
The club is also pleased to announce Ash Duncan as our Reserves coach for 2010.
Our Colts Coach will be Zane Job.
Zane has coached Colts teams at Whitehorse Pioneers, Vermont and St.Marys in Darwin.
The club has been continually developing and improving both on and off the field over the past decade and we believe the foundations are now strong enough that we can return to Division 1 with optimism.
Our community based club is a wonderful place to be around and we hope that everybody who comes into contact with the South Croydon Football Club has a great experience.
Pre-season training has already commenced and is every Monday and Wednesday at Pembroke Secondary College in Mooroolbark starting at 6:30 pm.

Our final session for the year will be a BBQ and drinks at Cheong Park from 6:30 pm on Wednesday the 16th of December. All players, supporters, sponsors and families are welcome.
