A 30-POSSESSION effort against Essendon has won Melbourne's Jordan Gysberts the Round 11 NAB Rising Star nomination.
Gysberts, 19, was also nominated for the award in Round 11 last season – a week after his debut - before his season was cut short with a back injury.
He played his first senior match this year in round three and has managed to comfortably hold down his spot in the side.
The midfielder also made four tackles and took eight marks in the Dees’ stirring win over Essendon last Friday night.
“Jordie’s contribution against Essendon was terrific, he’s just a natural footballer who is clearly at home at the elite level of AFL,” Melbourne coach Dean Bailey said.
