Uniform

A Claremont/Cottesloe singlet is distributed to all players, via the team manager, at the beginning of the season. This must be returned in a timely manner at the end of the season otherwise a fee will be incurred. All players to provide their own plain black shorts (no pockets) and sneakers/basketball boots. Referees may impose penalties for incorrect uniforms. Not permitted playing uniform includes, but is not limited to: shorts with pockets, boardies, long shorts, cycle pants and skirts. Mouthguards are highly recommended from under 10s and up.

Age Group Information

Under 8 Mini-ball will be held on Tuesdays between 4.15pm-6.15pm with the emphasis on skills development. This is suitable for children in year 2 at school. These children will turn 8 after 30th June 2020. Some younger children can join this program if they show adequate ball skills.

Under 10 Miniball will be divided into Divisions based on age and ability. Girls and boys can play in the same team and boys and girls teams may play each other. Children in this age group must not turn 10 until after 30th June 2020.

Under 10 (normal rules) will start with one division. We may expand this to two divisions during the review process, but this will be subject to the player’s readiness to adapt to full rules. Children in this age group must not turn 10 until after 30th June 2020.

Under 12 age group will be divided into divisions which will be based on age and ability. (ie teams of 11 year olds will generally be in a higher division than teams of 10 year olds) Girls and boys can play in the same team – not very common. In some circumstances boys’ and girls’ teams may play against each other, but this is unusual. Children in this age group must not turn 12 until after 30th June 2020.

Under 14 age group will be similarly divided into divisions as required. Teams may be all of one age within this group, or a mixture of ages within this group. Boys and Girls are separate competitions and teams participate in finals from this age group and up.

Under 16 and Under 18 age groups will also be graded into divisions. Some flexibility may be needed particularly in the girls’ divisions.

Game Times, Game Days
Perry Lakes will schedule games on Friday evenings as well as the usual Saturday games. It is expected that Girls U/14 and U/16 plus Girls MB may be on Fridays. This timeslot is currently under review. Otherwise games are scheduled by Perry Lakes on Saturday depending on age group and grading. Some overflow games may be played at Lords.
