The Tantanoola Football Club was formed in 1894 and played organised challenge matches against teams such as Millicent, Compton and Suttontown. Tantanoola was a member of the Millicent Football Association in the early 1900s and combined with the Murrimbum Football Club in 1910 to form the Murrimbum Rovers Football Club, who only survived for one season.
In 1920 Tantanoola became a member of the Drainage Areas Football Association and in 1926 entered the South East Association B Grade competition. Tantanoola then went on to become a foundation member of the Mid South East Football League in 1936, with the nickname of Tigers, colours Blue & White, from 1920’s Red & White, have won 6 A Grade Premierships 1947-48, 1973, 1975, 1986, 2006, 12 B Grade Premierships 1984-85, 1987-89, 1994, 1999-2000, 2006, 2013-2014, 2016 6 Senior Colts Premierships 1969, 1995, 2000, 2005-06, 2009 and 5 Junior Colts Premierships 1980, 1995-97, 2008.
