A Grade Coach - Todd Miles
Growing up in Owen South Australia I played my junior football in Hamley Bridge. In 2004 I played in my first A Grade premiership. I then made my move to Mintaro Manrora in which I was a key A grade player playing from 2006-2008. In 2008 aged 22, I had won my second A grade premiership and also was awarded Grand Final Best on Ground.
In 2009 I was selected to move to Woodville West Torrens to play SANFL Senior football. I played two successful seasons at Woodville in the League side.
In 2011 North Adelaide Football Club became home. During my 5 years at North Adelaide, I was awarded several accolades of which I am extremely grateful and proud of. These include;
2012 – Awarded League Defender of the Year
2013 – Vice-Captain and Grand Finalist
2013 – Awarded Barry Robran Medal (North Adelaide league Best & Fairest)
2013 – Awarded Best Finals Player
2013 – Awarded C L Jessop Trophy (Most Consistent Player)
2014 – Awarded Defender of the Year and captain
2014 – SANFL State Player
In 2015, after 131 league games, I retired from SANFL football.
I took the opportunity to move to the Barossa Districts Football Club to become the A grade, senior coach. During my tenure, I was a player-coach across all four seasons from 2016-2019.
During my time at Barossa Districts, I coached the A Grade side to four final campaigns. We advanced to back to back premierships in 2016 and 2017. I was awarded the Hurn Medal for the best on ground player during the 2017 Grand Final.
Since departing SANFL football I have been selected to play in the South Australian State Country Football Team in 2016-2019.
Over the past five years, I have focused on my development as a coach and have achieved my level 2 coaching accreditation. 2020 was my first year at the Goolwa Pt Elliot football club, it was a tough year with all the challenges we faced.
In 2021 we have added a number of new players to the senior squad and are looking to make a big improvement.The team has put in a lot of hard work over the preseason and are excited to attack the season.We are aiming to play an exciting brand of footy and make it hard for the opposition.
In my spare time, I enjoy riding my motorcycle, mountain biking and spending time with mates. I live in metropolitan Adelaide with my wife and two dogs.
