As the sun shone during the final round of the season, Perrin Hicks along with his two sons led the team through a guard of honor in what preceeded a solid effort by the boys on the field to take the 2 points.
Although the Compass Bulldogs showed plenty of heart we were unable to stop the Tigers run on their home ground.
Encounter Bay showed plenty of heart on Saturday & the visitors snatched a come from behind 1 goal victory.
Slippery conditions made for a hard battle against Strathalbyn on their home ground and despite matching the premiers all over the ground our boys were unable to snatch a win.
A gallant effort by the Compass Bulldogs resulted in a goal for goal battle with top contenders Langhorne Creek. Unfortunately it wasn't quite enough to get over the line.
A consistent four quarter effort from the boys was more than enough to take care of a struggling McLaren Eagles side.
A hard fought battle with Victor Harbor resulted in yet another 1-kick loss, leaving the Bulldogs 5 points behind in the finals race.
Miserable conditions made for scrappy play at Myponga and although our boys tried their hardest the Mudlarks took the points for the round.
Our start to the second half of the season could not have been much worse with all teams going down to the Willunga Demons on our home ground.
A 10 goal victory over the Magpies has netted the Bulldogs 4 wins for the first half of the season and the boys will be looking to constantly improve over the next 9 rounds in a bid to keep our finals hopes alive.
Yankalilla were always goning to be a tough side to beat but a large number of skill errors by the Bulldogs gave the Tigers the upper hand early in the match.
The second night match of our season on a chilly evening at Encounter Bay resulted in both senior sides taking home the win.
Windy conditions proved difficult for teams in round 6 and despite the Bulldogs matching the Roosters in the first half they were unable to take control of the contest.
Despite gaining a four goal advantage on two occasions, premiership points for round 4 were halved with the visitors after a thrilling encounter.
Both the A-Grade and Reserves teams notched up solid wins against Victor Harbor on their home turf.
All the hard work during pre season is beginning to pay off with the A-Grade team finding their mojo & striking up a solid win against the Mudlarks.
It was left to our under 17's to represent our club on the winners circle while all other grades were unable to get across the line at Willunga.
