Prior to the weekend off for the Country Carnival, we travelled to Goolwa in what can be described as wintery weather suited more for ducks rather than football.
The Under 14’s had a close hard fought game for a well deserved win as they were playing a good team game. The Under 17’s got off to a slow start against the top side but fought back well to really push Goolwa. Unfortunately our lads didn’t win but certainly showed they are a group to watch in the future as they progress into the Clubs senior ranks.
The Reserves have hit a bit of a wall but had quite a few out with a few “Older” members told to bring their gear just in case. I hope it was a wake up call to everyone with the finals in their sights as now is the time to really start working hard. The A grade had a good game in trying conditions with a string of injuries depleting our side it was a deserved and much needed win against a very persistent side.
Today is the Sponsors and Life Members day which will be held in the “Pavilion” during the A Grade game. On Saturday the 23rd of July vs Mt Compass we are holding a “Past Players and Supporters Day” and I take this opportunity to invite ALL past players to contact Steve Walker or Craig Hill to take part in this day. There is a cost of $25 involved with all funds raised going towards a club room redevelopment and the day is proudly sponsored by CB&S CIVIL.
Cheer loudly and support the Mighty McLaren Eagles.
