We were outplayed by a highly talented team who are playing with confidence, a great work rate and work well as a team. Langhorne Creek have the ability to recruit a lot of players with league experience and their class showed this week.
The positive for us was a great display of footy in the 3rd quarter, we matched them with inside 50 entries and kicked 6 goals to 4 with the old fella Housty kicking 5 of them with a great display of strong marking and accurate kicking.
It was a huge task for our running brigade and one that we are not quite up to yet, we show signs in quarters and halves but need to have this commitment for 4 quarters and will continue to work hard to get our desired result of beating a top 5 side this year.
We have a cycle of 3 matches after the bye this week and before the next bye in July. We have the ability to win all 3 of these matches and will strive to do this and hopefully gain some confidence and a good feel around the Club. Our opponents will be Encounter Bay, Yankalilla and Goolwa - Yank being the top 5 target of this cycle.
Well done to Jamie Molling and his under 17 team for winning there first game in 2011 last Saturday, a magnificent effort against a side that won there last 5 matches, hopefully this is a start of more to come with some key players now back in the side.
