The Alexandra Football Netball Club comprises a strong community, founded on the principles of integrity and respect, and intention of providing a safe environment for young men and women to partake in healthy, recreational activities.
Formed 1884, the club continues to be a progressive and integral component of the community with a firm vision for its role in the future whilst acknowledging and respecting its outstanding history.
The club has over 300 active participants and provides a great setting not only for participating in sport but as a social hub for people to meet and mix and support each other, in a positive environment with a common goal.
We are justifiably proud of our new clubrooms and netball facility which represent many years of hard work by the volunteers within our club. The club has a sound financial base and is administered by a range of professional individuals with experience in a variety of fields.
We are presently on the lookout for eager families and individuals to contribute to the enrichment of our club culture, both within the fields of play and beyond, for the upcoming 2024 season and into the future.
With a steady influx of players transitioning from our junior ranks to the senior team as well as multiple teams making grand final appearances last year, the Rebels are poised for an exhilarating season in 2024.
SEASON 2024
This year marks a significant milestone in our history as we plan to celebrate our 140th anniversary and we would love to invite you to be involved. Examples of ways in which you can assist us in making our historic 140th year as a club one to remember. We look forward to recognising and celebrating our football and netball history throughout the year both in our champion teams and the many individuals who have contributed to our success both on and off the field.
The Outer Eastern FL has been re-configured, and we are now in Division 1. This will see us compete against many of our traditional rivals, a challenge we are ready to embrace. Our juniors will continue to participate in the Seymour Junior District League under the guidance of exceptional coaches who provide not only skill development but role modelling competitive sportsmanship. The club has a distinguished list of Life Members and the strong support of a range of sponsors, many who have been with us long term.
HOW CAN YOU BECOME INVOLVED?
There are numerous ways that you can support our club. Whether you are the parent or relative of a player, a member of the local community or a local business we would value and appreciate any assistance you can provide.
Assist our volunteers’ providing meals and refreshments for players and the local community on Thursday nights after training.
- Play a role in any of the jobs undertaken on game days. For example goal umpiring, time keeping or canteen
- Help in the running and maintenance of our new facilities.
- Become involved in social activities within the club, the calendar of events is out!
- Bring any area of expertise that you think may benefit our organisation.
