Hello Tiger's Team,
The Australian Open tennis is now done and cricket season is coming to an end….... So now it’s time to think about footy again!
We are now less than two months away from the 2020 season- It sure does come around quick! There is a lot of information to here, so please work through it all and share with any friends and family and reach out if you have questions.
Committee
The Tigers have a proud history where every person contributes for the benefit of the club and the kids. Please support the committee/coaches and live the Tigers Values-
Teamwork, Respect and Enjoyment!
President – Hayden Sharp 0417 655 559
Vice President – Jonathon Correll and Kurt Schubert
Treasurer – Chelsey Turner
Secretary – Kylee Cleal assisting and handing over to Tania Pool
Canteen - Sharon Carmody
The Tigers club is only as good as its people - so please get involved where possible, there are lots of volunteer jobs to be filled. Assistant coaches, trainers, team managers, umpires, goal umpires, boundary, water, scoreboard etc. Let us know if you are able to help out!
A canteen roster and an orange/lolly roster will also be drawn up with each family to be allocated their turn. Keep a look out on team app/website for these rosters.
If you haven’t already done your working with children check – it’s free and easy to complete. You can apply here http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/
It is an expectation that all those volunteering down at the club will have completed this – please supply a copy.
Our next committee meeting will be on Tuesday 10 March 5:30pm at the Tigers shed – all welcome.
Communication
If you haven't already done so, be sure to download the free app -Team App as this is our preferred and easiest ways for us to communicate to you all. You can download it from the Google Play or Apple Store. Choose Wangaratta Tigers JFC and register.
Also don't forget to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/wangarattatigersjuniorfootballclub/
Season Launch/Bootswap
Our first social event is the Season Launch-Jumper Presentation.
Thursday 19th March. Come down and support the kids at training and meet/catch up with some of the other parents from 5:30pm. Following training, about 6:30pm we will provide pizza and a softie for all and then present the players with their playing jumpers for the year ahead.
This year we will also host a boot swap – so dig out all those boots that don’t fit and see if you might be able to swap them for a pair that do!
We will also have some new merchandise – training singles, t shirts and caps on show for you to check out/try on for size. Keep a look out on team app as you will be able to purchase new merchandise online here.
For new club members - footy shorts, socks and mouthguards can be purchased at the local Sports stores.
Sponsorship
The TIGERS JFC is eager to explore Sponsorship options with any interested parties…. Please discuss any ideas with Hayden or Kurt. There maybe additional opportunities to sponsor new merchandise including caps, bags and beanies. Sponsorship assists the club with funds to ease the burden on individual families and will help the club to support our kids.
We are very grateful for the generosity provided by our sponsors,
So please get behind these businesses in the community.
