The U/12's train every Wednesday at the Bill O'Callaghan Oval, at 5.00 pm, & the top age U/12's players are encouraged to train with the U/14's every Monday night.
Training for our U/12's will start on Wednesday, 17th February, 2021 at 5 pm.

W&DJFL - UNDER 12 - ‘FAST FACTS’
As clubs are now back in action for 2021 in preparation for the highly anticipated 2021 Wangaratta and District Junior Football season, a hot topic of conversation is the newly introduced U/12 format.
During the inaugural year of the U/12 competition, clubs will experience rules and regulations specific to the U/12 grade.
To clarify some frequently asked questions, the following information has been circulated to clubs to better inform its committees, coaches and parents.
Season
The first round of the WDJFL 2021 Season will be played on the 28/28th March, although the Under 12 competition will most likely start the following weekend.
Teams
All six Wangaratta based clubs along with Benalla x 2, Myrtleford and Bright will enter U12 teams. Mansfield are continuing with their own U/12 format which has sufficient numbers and multiple teams.
Age Requirements
Participants must have turned 10 years of age as of January 1st in the year of the current season. A player’s final year of U12’s is at 12 years of age.
Quarter Lengths
U/12’s matches will consist of 4 x 15minute quarters.
Start Times
On a Saturday's -
- U/12 start time is 9:00 am,
- U14– 10:30 am and
- U16 – 12:30pm.
On a Sunday, Start times are -

U/12 – 10:30 am,

U/14 – 12noon and

U/16 – 2 pm.
Registration/Fees
To register a player for 2021, this must be done online by the player/parent, go to your club website and on the right-hand side of your screen click: Annual membership fees are set by individual clubs, they will be in contact.
Ground Dimensions
U12 playing arenas will be approximately 120m long and 100m wide. Portable goalposts will be used at one end of the ground.
