We would like to welcome the Jerilderie Football Netball Club to our grounds for what should be some great football and netball.
Under 14's - The Toc boys game against the junior Blues was a bit of an unknown, but after the first quarter they sure knew they had a game in their hands. To their credit they went back to some hard running, pressure and supporting each other, ensuring another good win against some pretty good opposition. Zander, Tommy and Cody continue to lead the way, as do Connor and Riley. Whilst Kalle's forward line pressure and tackling resulted in him kicking three himself and giving away two or three others. Again one of the most pleasing things has been the even contribution from all, in particular the young fellas. We just need to keep it up with some big matches in front of us.
Under 17's - The boys put in a good effort last week coming up against a great side. Will Hatty was consistent all day. Great game this week from Cam Bowdern.
Reserves - The Magoos had a great game. Andy Blackbourn gave it all for the four quarters as well as Paul Quick and Kenny Chellew.
Seniors - The senior boys travelled over to Picola with a positive attitude after last week's draw with Blighty. With a tough early draw the Bloods knew it was an important game to win.
The first quarter was played at a high intensity with very few scoring opportunities. Tocumwal were using the ball well early and broke Picola's press open in the first half. Dizza Flanagan was looking dangerous up forward with the onball brigade getting the ball in quick. During the second quarter big man Travis Haynes went down with a leg injury which forced the team to step up in his absence. The highly regarded Picola team came out in the third quarter with a point to prove. They wrestled the score back to be within two kicks. In the final quarter the Picola boys gave it their all. The Bloods were down a player and it hurt their rotations which impacted greatly. With a big crowd behind them Picola broke the game open and didn't look back. The Bloods have shown in patches they can match it with the top sides but are yet to put a four quarter effort together. Coaches Maxwell and Logie have put the onus on the playing group over the coming weeks to turn potential into reality.
