The Tocumwal Football Netball Club would like to welcome the Berrigan Saints and all our Easter visitors to what will hopefully be another successful day for the Bloods.
It is really something to see the support we are getting from our little town and supporters, the crowd last week was a big one and hopefully this week will be much bigger with plenty of vocal supporters to spur our club on for a few more wins.
Saturday saw the young Bloods take on an extremely well drilled Rovers' unit who dictated the terms for most of the game leaving our boys a little flat footed. Having said that there were positives especially some of the tackling and shepherding, particularly from Tyrone Smithers who is demonstrating that if your prepared to put your head over the ball you'll normally get it. Jesse B, Tom H & Will H all continued their good form while Drew Eddy was on the bottom of every contest he went to again showing he doesn't know the meaning of giving up.
Keep training hard and I'm sure a victory is just around the corner. Well done to Baylee Morton who played his 50th U/14's game last week.
The thirds boys were up against a bigger bodied opponents and we had five players missing. I believe the boys performed exceptionally. We could have let Deni run all over the top of us - but we fought it out to the very end. We had a few injuries to Billy Govan, Cam Bowdern and Ethan Mills - but the boys were very gallant in defeat. It was a good team effort to ensure we remained in the contest. A special mention to James and Mitch from the fourths helping us out again - and a good start by Jay Buckley for his first year in U/17's. Good games by Jarrod, Troy, Kaleb and Liam. Let's take some confidence from this game and get ready for a big game against Berrigan today.
Well well well the Magoos finally got a win on the board. It was starting to look a bit daunting in the last quarter with the Rovers coming back at us strongly. Let's get together today and put a strong four quarters together and anything could happen. Well done to a great clubman in Timmy Brunskill for notching up his 50th reserves game for the club.
Our seniors notched up another win. It was a great win by all the boys putting in a real team effort. Coach Kirch must be happy with the way things are going at the moment, without getting in front of ourselves there is still plenty of work to be done.
Congratulations to Jeremy Rush who played his first senior game for the Bloods. Having come from our junior stocks he will be someone to keep an eye on for the future. He has great enthusiasm for the game and others would do well to take a leaf out of his book.
Michael Jordan: "Love is playing every game as if it's your last."
