A couple of milestones will be reached today with Scott Baldwin playing his 300th senior game and Ken Chellew playing his 150th senior game for the club. Well done to both of you. After the game tonight there will be a testamonial for Scott's 300th. Everyone is welcome to come upstairs and listen to what I am sure will be an interesting night.
Under 14's - The boys played a great first quarter. Their intensity was great and we needed to keep that up for a full game. Congrats to Jesse Barker, you played a great game and did what I asked of you. We have Finley this week, so let's switch on and have a good game.
Under 17's - Once again a big ask for the trip to Congupna. It was great to see the Maximum Margin Rule not come in until after half time. Thanks to Congupna for lending us players and only playing 16 a side. Your boys really played well and I'm sure it was a good contest for them. Keep your heads up boys only a few weeks to go.
Reserves - The Bloods started again using the KY Factor which has been very helpful over the season. Thommo, Corey and Messy doubled up and there was a bit of optimism to start the game. A couple of first quarter goals had the boys in with a show but unfortunately the train for KY left early as did the hopes of the twos. Cheech was on fire supported by Redman, Troy, Doc, Simmo and Bobby.
Seniors - The Bloods were keen to get back on the winners list after some good form in patches over recent weeks. Once again there were some big outs with Choco, Dave, Ash & Timmy B. Piggy back in the side started well across half back supported by Morgs & Hicky. TWG & Loges were good through the middle but Coach Nathan was far from happy at quarter time with the Bloods run and lack of discipline.
The second quarter saw the Bloods start well with two quick goals to Chappy and two to Coach Nathan. The remainder of the quarter was even in general play and once again Coach Nathan was disappointed in the lapse in concentration. Goalkickers Coach Nathan and Chappy were good but none better for the half than Piggy, TWG, Morgs & Loges.
The third quarter saw the Bloods start well with an early goal to Monty & Pica who was having a good game. TWG snagged a goal after solid work from Stewie and the long kick from Balraj found Coach Nathan for his third. Monty chipped in for another and the Bloods had a good lead.
In the last the Road lifted their work rate late in the quarter before Morgs kicked his second. Morgs capped off a good game with three and although the Road never gave in the Bloods jagged their fourth win of the year.
