Under 14's - What a great game boys. You all played well right from the first bounce to take the game right to Cobram. The intensity that you showed in the second quarter was brilliant but we need to string that together for the whole game. Welcome to the Perry Family who have come to play with us for the remainder of the season.
Under 17's - A great game by the boys. The third quarter was the best played all year. A big thanks to Cobram for their players, they played within the spirits of the game which we like to see. A good game by Tyler, Ed and Aiden. Keep going boys you are improving each week. Please get to training, it will help with your game and fitness. Training with the senior footballers will benefit your football game.
Reserves - As the fog lifted from the TFNC ground it was apparent that the two's numbers would also be lifted from the team sheet. After a quick hunt of the surrounds Bob and Ken found enough numbers to form a side. The boys started well with Croc lining up on Rudd, Timmy B in the centre and Bobby producing the best form of a long career. Skinny kicked a goal and was nicely supported by Nato and Jake. Cobram got away in the second quarter. Redman, Simmo, Bobby, Thommo and Messy all worked hard but The Bloods had no answer to big Ruddy up forward. In the finish The Bloods did their best but Cobram a bit too polished today.
Seniors - The seniors welcomed back Balraj, Monty, Crawf and Smouse but had to cover Coach Nathan and Captain Diva. The Bloods had good use of the ball early with Choco, Loges and Johnny winning across the middle, good run from Scotty, Morgs, Piggy and TWG from half back. Balraj on target early with two goals and a nice roving goal from K-Train. The Bloods needed to maintain pressure on the Tigers if they were to keep pace with the ladder leaders.
Cobram started to get their game going in the second quarter with Coach Osborne and Johnny Lucas dangerous around the goals. A couple of missed opportunities had The Bloods trailling by 5 goals at the long break.
Cobram continued to control the game throughout with Bloods best served by Loges, Choco, Hicks and Kenny with Jordy, Piggy and Morgs continuing their development with solid games down back.
Social Notes - On the social scene we will be having a trivia night after the Rumbalara game back at the clubrooms - 23/07/11. Start organising your tables for this fun event. It is open to anyone that would like to have a great night. Further details will be available next week.
All the best today to all teams participating.
