Congratulations to everyone competing this weekend. We hope as a club we will all come away smiling at the end of the day. After today's games we will be heading back to the Terminus Hotel for a few drinks and dinner. It would be great to see a crowd get along and get behind our sponsor and finalists.
Wow what a weekend of sport last weekend. It all started on Saturday over at Berrigan with the A Grade girls. Not the results we were looking for but should go one better this week. A very high intensity game. After a slow start we were able to come back to even at half time but their consistency and fitness meant they were able to run out the entire four quarters whereas we lost focus. Lots to work on this week before we play again for the Grand Final spot at Blighty. Keep your heads high, let's work hard this week and get that Grand Final spot we have been working hard for all year. Better players were Millie Ferguson and Abby Wilson.
Then on Sunday the day started with our 15 & Under girls against Picola. The girls came away with the win, which now sets them up against Deni Rovers this week at Blighty. It was a great game girls, defensive pressure the whole way down the court was fantastic, and it cleared many turnovers for us. We just need to make sure we treasure each and every pass and look for our best options. Great team effort. Awards went to Gracie Reid and Hannah Paganoni.
Then the big game, the seniors v Picola. What a wait this has been. Feeling confident the boys warmed up magnificently and that was only the beginning. They continued it out onto the ground for four quarters. They came out to play and that is exactly what they all did. The back six were solid all day and played like a team possessed. We had ten different goalkickers which saw the score evenly spread around the ground with an outstanding seven goals from The Big Dizza. Well done boys, heads down and everything is possible today.
