We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all our visitors, Congupna Football Netball Club and holiday makers to our wonderfull facilities that we have here at Tocumwal Football Netball Club. We hope you enjoy your day here today with our netballers and footballers playing Congupna in what has become a traditional Good Friday fixture.
Under 14's - What a game by the Young Bloods. You have done yourselves proud with the effort that you put in against Rumbalara. What a great result even when we didn't get the win. Congratulations must go to Kaleb Spicer for best on ground with a three goal haul and you put in right up until the final siren sounded, also Hugh Haynes and Billy Govan you had those centre taps working great, so all in all great effort by everyone and bring on today's game against Congupna.
Under 17's - Our day started with a headache as a few boys pulled out before the first bounce. A big thank you to the Rumbalara boys that filled in and played with us with great spirit, also a big thanks to our own fourths boys that doubled up again, your efforts are fantastic. Damo battled hard in the ruck all day and Nato played well until he got injured. Cooper kicked our only goal for the match. Keep your heads up boys and keep fighting.
Reserves - The trip to Rumba created a few changes in the Bloods line up. Good to see Horey, Sniffa and Jake in for a run with Toddy, Jesse & Thomo backing up from the Under 17's. The undefeated Rumba were a bit slick with their skills for the Toc boys running out comfortable winners. Simmo was good again supported by Harps, Mitch, Horey, Sniffa and Timmy.
Seniors - Toc travelled to meet top side Rumba with Morgs having the task of picking up Djaren Whyman. The Bloods started into a slight breeze with Thomo slotting two and Chappy one. The backs held tight keeping the Rumba creativity to only 4 goals to the Bloods 3 with Crawf, Loges & Johnny running hard through the middle and our forwards - Chappy, Thomo & Singhy all looking dangerous when the ball moved forward. Playing with the breeze in the second quarter there was some anticipation that the Bloods could edge in front by half time. Someone forgot to tell Rumba who started the quarter stronger. Jordy copping an injury left coach Tresize to ruck all quarter. Goals from Singhy and Thomo kept the Bloods in touch at half time only being down by four goals. Better players for the quarter were coach Tresize, Loges & Crawf - who copped a heavy knock but was still solid. A structural change to start the third with Tresize at full forward and Singhy into the ruck, but we had no answers for the Rumba runners and Eric Edwards up forward who kicked a bag. With the game all but over the Bloods needed to salvage some pride and confidence with goals to Johnny and Loges but Rumba too good to run away comfortable winners.
The best of luck to all teams today and let's hope we can come home with the goods.
