What a great effort from the Bloods this year, with 5 netball teams and 2 football teams representing the club in finals. Give it your best shot, you have already made the club proud by making the finals. All the best.
Under 14's - The junior boys were back on track against the Rovers, playing some fantastic footy for three quarters before taking the foot off the pedal to eventually go down by three goals.
The older boys in Cody, Dec and Mitch C led the way whilst Zander, Tommy and Blair continued their stellar seasons thus far by throwing themselves into every contest.
Both a great reward and opportunity for the boys who will be the first Toc 4ths team to play finals in 25 years today. Regardless of the result, we must give it our all to walk away with our heads held high in a season that has had great progress both individually and more importantly as a team.
Under 17's - Well done to the boys on a great season. Thanks to all the people that have helped the Under 17 team. Good luck to all the Toc teams in the finals.
Reserves - The reserves recent run of good form came to an abrupt end last Saturday with one of the two reserve grade powerhouses giving us a free lesson on disciplined, team oriented football.
The first quarter began with the Bloods under siege and we managed only 3 first quarter inside fifty entries. We defended valiantly and the 27 point first term deficit was flattering. The 2nd term was almost a replica of the 1st, however we won a few more stoppages and managed to limit the half time damage to 39 points. Unfortunately a better second half effort was not rewarded with our inability to convert our scoring opportunities onto the scoreboard and Deniliquin not letting up at all.
Too few players had consistent effort over the whole game and that will need to change if we are to be competitive in our finals appearance.
Seniors - In the final game for the Bloods this year the boys came out in the first half to show what could have been. With pressure building from the back line, the Bloods moved the ball into the forward line creating opportunities for the likes of Logie, Flanagan, Pedemont and Farrell, who were able to make the most of their opportunities kicking truly. The half time score saw the Bloods head into the rooms with a 5 goal lead.
However in the third quarter the Bloods weren't able to convert and the finals bound Rovers (who were chasing 3rd spot on the ladder) pegged back the scoreline to be in a strong position with the wind in the last quarter.
David Trotman was strong all day in the back line marking anything that came his way, but it wasn't enough. The Rovers were able to run away with the win.
