Today after our games we will be wandering back to the Tocumwal Golf & Bowls Club for our awards. Please make an effort to get back to the club as they are another one of our sponsors.
A couple of milestones today - Congratulations to Jordan Poynton on his 50th reserves game for the Bloods today and Luke Hayes-Beetson on this 100th club game. Well done guys, still plenty of football left in both of you.
Under 14's - The previous couple of weeks scores had indicated that the junior Bloods were in for a pretty even contest, but to the boys credit, they stuck to the plan and played some patches of terrific football. The highlight of the match was their constant pressure and harassing of the opposition and the ability to stay in every contest. As we've been working on, if we stick to the way WE want to play, the results will take care of themselves.
Under 17's - Not a great day from the boys last week. Started the day off slowly but gained momentum slightly as the game went on. The team need to be more consistent with their efforts. Drew Eddy played hard for the entire game as did Jesse Barker.
Reserves - Close game by the Magoos last week. We need to work hard and be consistent for the four quarters to get the win at the end of the day. Great game by Paul Quick and Ken Chellew.
Seniors - Last week Toc hosted the Redeyes and their former coach, Daniel Kirchen in a nail biting game. The first half was relatively low scoring with Blighty edging their way in front by the main break. The game got a bit more interesting in the third quarter. Keith Baron provided a strong target up forward and Ollie Rennie inspired his teammates with some courageous plays. The Bloods fought their way back into the game to only be a goal behind at the last break. In the last quarter the Bloods were able to find a strong target in Dennis Pedemont and he put consecutive goals on the board. Blighty fought back and it came down to the wire to finish in a draw.
