The U/14 boys game against Yarroweyah didn't quite work out to plan with them missing several opportunities in the first half, a lack lustre 3rd quarter followed by a courageous come back, unfortunately just failing to bridge the gap at the final siren. Disappointing, yes, but we had our chances and rather than make excuses, instead we'll learn and hopefully be better prepared in the future.
Drew Eddy has really stepped up both his game and leadership over the last 5-6 weeks and was again rock solid against opponents twice his size, while the Fabulous Smithers Boys were in everything trying their best as usual. Kalle had his best game for the year taking some solid grabs, Harvey and Tommy were their normal exciting selves while JoPaul, Braydie and Chase continue to improve each week.
With only a couple of weeks to go we need to ensure the effort is there so as to finish on a good note.
Fantastic win by the Magoo's last week. Tim and Glyn played exceptionally well in the centre. Steve Pagas played a great game in the back line. A well-deserved win boys. All the best to Robert "Cannons" Bray who dislocated his shoulder 'once again', weeks before surgery. We hope to see you back on the track next year Cannons.
Congratulations to Luke "Gooch" Fuller who plays his 50th Reserves game today against Strathy. Well done Luke and we would like to see plenty more, also well done to Corey Herezo on playing his 200th club game this week also. Corey is our Auskick instructor, teaching all our future little stars. Well done Corey.
