Well here we go again!!! Hard to believe that this time of the year is upon us already!!!
Welcome to everyone, especially all the Bloods new and continuing committee members, players and supporters to the 2014 PDFNL season.
We also extend a special welcome to all our new and existing sponsors, it is with your support and assistance that allows the TFNC to be the great club it is.
Well we have had a whirlwind last six months, which now finds us stepping into new territory for 2014. Everything is new!!
The Bloods have new opposition, new coaches, new committee and most importantly, new expectations. We also hope to unveil our new playing strip as well.
Our new president this year is Ash Crawford with great assistance from Carl Cummins.
Our senior coach this year is Daniel Kirchen - all the way from Mulwala - who has spent the pre-season studying our opposition and rallying our troops together in the readiness for the season to begin. He will be ably assisted by one of our very own, Tim Garlick - we welcome Tim back after spending two years playing in Sydney, it will be great to have him back amongst the fold.
Our reserves coach is once again Nathan O'Connell, our U/17's coach is no stranger to our club - Shane Gorman and our U/14's coach is The Energiser - Bob Bourke.
We would like to make welcome our new recruits this year - Eli Boyer, Michael O'Riordan, Brad Wilson, Dylan Flanagan, Cory Parish and Jack Shannon. If you see them around the club make yourself known to them.
It has also been great to see the number of new faces around the netball courts this season. Tocumwal is fielding some strong numbers this year with many new juniors commencing and moving throught the ranks.
While we have no Under 17's, we have a strong and cohesive team of U15's and a promising U13's team.
The numbers in the U11's are really heartening and our senior teams are looking really strong. The mood at training has been really positive and players are all aiming for their best year yet!
We are fortunate to have some great new coaches as well as some who have been involved with the club previously and from whom the players gain great skills and knowledge.
Welcomed to the club as coaches this year are Vicki Nolen (A & B Grades) and Stacey Almond (U11's). Returning for more are Cheryl Mears (C & C Res), Trish Wooden (U15's) and Amanda Reid (U13's).
We are incredibly fortunate to have such skill, knowledge and commitment to the game and look forward to an exciting season.
So here we go!!! Batten down the hatches and hold on tight as it is going to be one hell of a ride this year.
"Remember, if you are not playing your heart out, someone else is. And when you meet him, he will win."
All players and supporters are welcome back to Kelly's Pub tonight after the game to get the results and hear the awards.
