Under 14's - Another great game by the Young Bloods, you showed great courage and determination against a strong side. Some great passages of play by the boys to move the ball well and it shows when you put pressure on you can turn the ball over and move it down to the forward 50. Great work by Jacob Wallace with some great saves in the goal area. This week we have Finley so let's get our first win on the board.
Under 17's - The day started great with only having to call up a few fourths boys. Eddie battled really well down at full back along with Harro and Hamish. Thanks to Congupna for lending us five of their players it was a great contest. Keep your heads high boys you put in a great game.
Reserves - The twos started tall with Jordy and Toby in for the home game along with Cheech having a day off. Cheech and Reece were lively early setting Toby up for an early goal. Jordy and Timmy had the work rate up early creating opportunities with a goal to Dean "Perko" Sellick to finish the quarter one point up. The second quarter saw the Road attack but were held with good defence from Skinny, Mitch, Timmy and Sniffa playing well. Toby scored his second against the play backed up by another from Dean "Perko" Sellick. Coach Ken called on a big effort for the third quarter but Congupna held the play in their half to score 2 to Toc's nil. The backs had the work load with Skinny, Jack and Timmy again the better players. The Bloods couldn't sustain the pressure with the Road running out the winners.
Seniors - Coach Nathan was keen for a solid start which he got. Nathan was dominant early bagging two goals with support from Balraj and Loges. Good run off half back from Morgs and Piggy with Loges and Shielsy having an impact through the middle. The Bloods continued in the second quarter with goals to Singhy, Loges, OC and good goals from young guns Pollard and Garlick. The second half was a more even contest with Congupna slightly outscoring the Bloods. Coach Nathan, Captain Dave and Johnny were all good with Singhy finishing the game with eight.
The best of luck to all teams today against our close rivals Finley and hopefully we will bring home the goods.
