A big welcome to all past and present individuals who have travelled to help celebrate 125 years of this amazing football netball club - the mighty Tocumwal Bloods.
It's going to be a huge weekend starting with the breakfast today where past legends of the club will entertain us with some old yarns, after the breakfast the festivities will kick off again tonight where we hope everyone will enjoy a drink and catch up with some old faces. We would like to thank everybody for making the effort in helping us celebrate this amazing milestone for the club and making it a memorable weekend for all involved.
Thanks go to our Reunion committee for all the endless hours put into getting this off the ground. Put your feet up and enjoy the weekend.
Under 14's - No excuses from the fourths boys last Saturday as their opponents were bigger and slicker across the board and capitalized their forward entries with some good kicking.
That being said our effort for the vast majority of the game was terrific with the boys giving their all, just not being able to impact the scoreboard.
Tommy, Cody, Braydie and Blair threw themselves into everything while Ollie and Mitch more than held their own on the day. Your effort and attitude remains strong, we just need to maintain that over the next three weeks.
Under 17's - Good game from the boys last week, more of a consistent game. Dalton was best on ground whilst Cam and Jesse had great games. Will was good down back.
Reserves - The two's headed down the highway to Jerilderie in a must win game if our season was to continue. With two late changes and a rearranged side the first quarter was a hard fought contested ball affair with both sides battling hard. Big Kenny Chellew proved to be the match winner as we converted our chances to slam on 3 goals to consolidate a 5 goal lead at the half way mark.
The last half was a testament to the groups courage as the game tightened up as only two goals were added for the half. This was a complete team effort as plenty of credit should go to Jerilderie as they never stopped trying and made us work for the win. Veteran Ken Chellew set a record of 11 free kicks against him in a game (-44 points in a dream team speak).
Seniors - We travelled to Jerilderie looking to get back on the winners list. With a few senior regulars out it was a great opportunity for everyone to stand up. The boys started well, with repeat entries into the forward line. Dizza got on the end of a couple and kicked truly. Steve Patten, Horey and Fogarty were lively early on having plenty of say in contested play. Going into the major break the Bloods were 5 goals up and looking good.
The three Morham brothers were playing great footy together, which was great to watch from the sidelines. Keith Baron and Ollie Rennie continued their ultra-consistent seasons keeping the Bloods 6 goals ahead of Jerilderie. Big Dizz (sleeveless) had the kicking boots on and finished with 7 goals, some great reward for this efforts.
