Although the U14's lost last Saturday, the scoreboard doesn't always tell the story. The boys worked extremely hard and were competitive for most of the game, they were just unable to convert into goals. Taz and Tommy continued their consistent seasons, whilst Zander played a great game at full back to again confirm his ablility and improvement this year.
Drew and Aden both held their own, while Riley in his 50th game did some good things when in his area - well done Riley.
Must make mention of the six boys who went up to support their club mates in the U17's. With Taz giving his usual 100% and Kalle and Baylee both playing very good games. Stick at it boys, as while the wins are hard to come by, you can see the effort and improvement from the side lines - good work.
Young gun two's forward, Chris Russell, was looking forward to getting "off the chain" last week without Dizza and Bob around to clog up the forward line. Taking on arch rivals, Berrigan, Chris knew he could get a bag. Unfortunately with OC dominating play all over the ground, Chris spent most of his time on the leash and on the bench. "I didn't think I'd have to worry about OC intruding into my space because we all know what his goal kicking is like," said Chris. Chris was also heard to mention, "I know I'll have to put on a big show against Jerilderie today, but I'll be right in my element with all the sponsors on board for their annual get together. I might even make the push to get Dizza's spot in the ones while he's wandering around the USA with Millie.
A big congrats to great clubman and all round nice guy Ken Chellew on lining up for his 300th club game today against Jerilderie. Great effort Ken, with a few more years left in you yet, who knows what records you could break.
