Well we don't have too much to report on from last week's games. Hopefully we are all prepared to go into this week with some extra spring in our steps.
Saturday Night - What more can be said. For the ones that didn't get tickets for our hypnotist night - all I can say is you missed out on possibly what could be one of the best nights this club has put on. A big well done to Carl Cummins for organising this great night, it was well received by all that was there. Plenty of our club members will now be looked at in a different light - surprising how many of our senior footballers are in love with Elmo!!!!
Today we have our annual Ladies Day - A Touch of Sparkle. Let's put a show on for these ladies and come home with a few wins.
Under 14's - The boys had another close one last week against the Strathy Pups with it being our 4th loss under 4 points (that's a lot of 4's). Unfortunately we had most of the play throughout the game but basic skill errors and small lapses of concentration proved the difference in the end. The usual suspects - Will H, Daniel R, Jesse E, Jesse B, Drew E and Tom H were again solid in their efforts while Jared D had his best game for the year and the way Connor C puts his head over the ball should be an example to all his team mates. This week marks the start of the new round so let's see if we can reverse some of the close results starting today.
Under 17's - A good effort by the boys under the circumstances - with some players not showing up and 3-4 injuries. We lost Jordan with a knee injury in the 3rd quarter let's hope for a speedy recovery. We would like to thank the U14 boys who helped out again this week - James, Mitch, Jared and Will. Young Will Hatty was exceptional for his first game - great job Will. If we can get more to training I think we could become a very competitive team it's up to you boys how much success you want from football. "NOTHING COMES EASY". Jarrod Morham another great game - leading by example. Let's take some positives out of this game and look forward to Blighty.
Reserves - Same old same old. Fitness boys!!! We won't get over the line until we start putting some hard yards in at training. All the best today. Congratulations to Corey Herezo who plays his 150th Reserves game today for the club. Well done Corey, plenty more to go we hope.
Seniors - Well well well!! We can't give a five goal head start and expect to win a game of footy. We could've won last week; we had plenty of play but must jump out of the starting blocks like we are here to play. Better luck this week. Congratulations to Jossy Cardillo who plays his 100th senior game today. Well done Jossy. Keep those games coming.
Over at the netball we have Tamara Bate playing her 50th B Grade game today. Well done Tam, we hope to see you around for a lot longer yet.
QUOTE OF THE DAY - " Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever." "Giving up should never be an option."
