ROUND 1
Hi and welcome to everyone for the 2009 Tocumwal Football Netball
Club season.
On the football front, a very successful and significant effort has been
made to recruit several new key position players and to retain existing
players. Importantly too, we welcome the return of local players who
were away working last season.
We have conducted a couple of practice matches over the last few
weeks. We have also catered for supporters in our new rooms very
successfully, it is proving that the hard work will help make it well
worthwhile coming to the game. We have all the signs of a great year
and look forward to everyone joining in and getting behind the club
to help keep the momentum going. There will be full catering all day
and after the games.
We will be having a membership draw every Thursday night after training
along with a meal. Come along and have a night out watching training,
listening to the teams being read out whilst having a meal.
You can also keep up-to-date with what's going on at the club with
our new website: www.tocumwalfc.vcfl.com.au always keeping our
members in the know.
Tocumwal netballers are abuzz with excitement and full belief that the
2009 season will be a positive one for all involved. The recent practice
match against Finley was beneficial with three new recruits from Melbourne
providing new options around the court. The three girls travelling up
from Melbourne will provide valuable experience and skills to all of our
players. We have been fortunate enough to have lots of interested
players this year, being able to field all Junior grades as well as three Senior
teams.
We would like to thank the 2009 netball coaches for their diligence and
commitment in taking on a coaching role. We are all looking forward to
the season of skilful and entertaining netball that will be as much fun to
participate in as it will be to watch from the sidelines. If you wish to play
netball this season, speak to any of the coaches or just come along to
training. If you cannot play, make sure to join us as an all important
spectator, before joining us at the new clubrooms to discuss the days
events.
We welcome Numurkah to our great ground and facilities today.
Congratulations to David Farrell playing his 150th senior game, Nathan
O'Connell playing his 50th senior game and Will McDonald playing his 50th
fourths game today. A great effort all round.
GO BLOODS!!!
