HISTORIC NETBALL FLAG FOR BLOODS
Tocumwal's netballers etched their names into the club's record books on Saturday, taking out their first ever A Grade premiership.
The A Graders triumphed in the 2015 decider over the Deni Rovers, 42-40, in a thriller played at Mathoura.
Tocumwal upstaged the raging favourite and minor premier Deni Rovers to capture a memorable A Grade premiership in the Picola & District Netball League.
The match had been highly anticipated following their close semi-final result a fortnight earlier, and neither team disappointed.
The Bloods sported their individual skills, level heads and determination to snare their first premiership cup in front of a bumper crowd at Mathoura.
A no point did the intensity drop off from the Bloods, with impeccable shooting from Jacq-lyn Davis and Katrina Chellew, and strong defence right along the court, especially in the goal ring where the defendedrs held the Deni shooters...
Best on court in the 42-40 result for Tocumwal was Kate Bird, Jacq-lyn Davis and Katrina Chellew, with Davis taking home the best on court medal.
