Last Saturday's U/14's game was one the boys were hoping they might be a chance for a win, but unfortunately the young Rovers jumped out of the box with a four goal first quarter, that had us under the pump.
To the boys credit they steadily increased their work rates over the next three quarters. Drew was back at his best, whilst younger bro Blair continues to show he's going to be a future gun. Tommy was terrific, Taz was tough and Aden's efforts and leadership have been terrific over the last three weeks.
Zander and Kalle worked hard down back as did Ethan. Chase was also very good whenever near the ball. Keep working hard boys and the results will come. Congratulations to Riley Bourne on his 50th U/14's game. Well done Riley with plenty more to come.
Close call for the two's last week, even with the late inclusion of Dizza Flanagan, Chris Russell couldn't believe his bad luck having seen club legend and 582 game player Bob Bourke off the previous week, finally thinking he had a chance of some open space in the forward line only to see Dizza continue to clog it up and cut off his natural free running game. OC's poor kicking form continued with some obvious goals going begging. With the coach away, Bob injured and Dizza in the US of A, let the Big Russ off the chain today and watch him go!!!!
A big congratulations to Leah Pate on her 150th A Grade game today. Leah has been playing at Tocumwal since 2005 and in this time she has coached U/17's and two years of A Grade, including this year. She was the winner of the 2014 PDFNL A Grade B & F and has won three TFNC B & F's. She also played in the winning PDFNL open netball team this year. Leah has only played A Grade with our club, and missed a couple of years due to family commitments. She has played in three Grand Finals over the 10 years with Toc. We wish you all the best today Leah, and look forward to watching you play for many years to come.
