Today we would like to welcome and acknowledge the sponsors of the TFNC with Sponsor's Day. We as a whole club would like to thank you for your generous contribution to help make our club a success. We are lucky enough to have a great sponsor base that has stuck with the club through thick and thin. We would like to thank you again and hope that you enjoy your day out.
Welcome former player Tim McCormick and the Mathoura FNC for the first time. We look forward to an enjoyable day!
Wow what an amazing night the TFNC ball turned out to be!!! All the glitz and glamour turned out at the Palladium Room for an enjoyable night. Hats off to Pica and the crew in organising a sensational night. Everyone had a ball of a time and no doubt everyone had a sore head come Sunday. Thanks to the Hore's for providing the venue for the afters', it was great to stick together and enjoy each other's company.
From the notes last week came a bit of talk around the ground about people getting involved. Now is the time to think about what you would like to do or like to see happen in our club for 2015. The AGM is coming up on the 6th August and it is up to you guys and girls to have a say. All positions will be declared vacant, so if you would like to become involved next year please have a chat to any current committee member or come along to the AGM. Being a committee member is not a massive commitment, there are lots of little areas that need to be broken up, so if you think that you can look after a certain department or area, we want you!
Congratulations to Jacinta Brunskill who played her 50th A Grade game against Picola last week. Well done Jacinta.
SENIORS - A great team effort saw some good rewards for the senior boys. After suffering a major scare when we played Picola last time it was time for redemption! The boys had a great warm up and carried it out onto the park. With a pretty even contribution from all players it was a good start to the game. The boys in the centre fought hard and provided the forwards with great opportunity to slot 6 majors for the opening term. In the second term Micky "I Love a Goal" O pushed forward and made the most of a few miss matches and found the sticks finishing with 5. After a bit of a revving at the main break the boys were told not to let up .....Kirch took to the pine to give directions. Dave had the stumbles and the Hobbit had a run in the forward line. Another solid performance by the boys in what was a great team game.
MIDDAY SHOW - The Magoo's had a battle on their hands against the 5th spot Picola. Big porn star pulled the boots on and had a stroll in the park. Batea battled hard all day and Timmy Brunskill led from the front. Glyn Matters showed he still has it while Peter Abo tore it up. Hopefully the boys can stick together for the next few weeks to see the season out! We are a massive chance for a few wins at home so let's enjoy it!
UNDER 17's - A good win by the boys. We started off very slow but to the boys' credit they played a very strong second half. The most positive aspect of the game was the entire team performance in the last quarter. A great effort was put in by Liam and Ethan down back and a good effort by Kaleb in the ruck and Cam across half forward, fantastic skills by our captain. With only 3 weeks to go before finals let's get on the training track and work hard for the rest of the season. Congratulations to Troy Poynton who plays his 50th U/17's game today, all the best Troy with many more to come.
UNDER 14's - Another tough task for the boys last week taking on the second placed Blues and apart from a lazy 3rd quarter the overall effort was pretty good, particularly from the younger brigade. Zander, Kalle, Harvey and Ollie all showed their continuing improvement by getting in and having a go when in their area, while the courage and hunger to get the ball displayed by both Connor C and Tommy B is why people come to watch footy. Tyrone, Jess B, Aden, Daniel & Toby all worked hard to round the better players on the day. It was also very much appreciated former senior coach Matt Wooden taking the boys last Tuesday, with his approach to the game and some new exercises well received by the boys - thanks Woody.
Just a reminder that there is plenty of hoodies of all sizes still available upstairs at the bar.
Major Raffle and Fun Day tickets are selling super fast. Last year they all sold out early so don't miss out as there is only 150 tickets! If you would like one give Carl a bell on 0408 175 584 or catch up with him.

QUOTE OF THE DAY - "Success isn't given. It's earned. On the track, on the field, in the gym. With blood, sweat and the occasional tear."
