Firstly a challenge has been thrown out to every member - there is a quote that was mentioned around the club earlier in the year ..... NEVER ASK FOR MORE THAN YOU CAN GIVE. So what do you ask for in a club every week? Is it to provide players with an outlet to enjoy each other's company as a team, socially and enjoyment? As a parent/supporter - to give you an outlet to support your local team, mix socially, enjoy family and friends and no doubt many other reasons.
Flip Side - What have you got to give? It's not about money or who's the best, who's friends with who or what we are. It's about a club, a club of people that come together, but it doesn't just happen ....... There are a handful of people who week in week out give their all. It's now time to share the love. We need all members to chip in and help out. Things like cleaning the rooms, cooking tea, marking the grounds, washing jumpers, canteen duties, bar duties, gate keeping, scoring, timekeeping and umpiring (central, boundary & goals) don't just happen. Unfortunately it's the same people week in week out that put their hands up. SOOO if you are a player, parent or partner that just turns up every week it's time for you to step up and help out!!! If we want our club to rebuild and become a force again it is up to us all!!!!

We were home last week for the first time in a while and what a cold old day it was! All the boys had a tough day on the park. Bobby's boys put up a good game, Gormo's lads had a go, the Magoos put up a fight and Kirch's fellas had a red hot dip. This week we hit the road to Picola, let's see if we can turn things around and have something to celebrate at our Annual Club Ball tonight.
SENIORS - Well the boys knew that they had a massive challenge ahead of them coming up against the ladder leaders for the second time. They came out all guns firing to get an early lead. Big man Dizz had a crack and slotted a couple of early goals. Micky O and Boxer set a cracking pace and through Big K gave us first use out of the middle. Starting the second a couple up we knew we couldn't let a class side like Jerilderie back in it. Unfortunately they got the jump on us and managed to get a few on the board in what was a costly quarter letting them back in the game. In the second half the challenge was ours to fight our way back into the game. Dave stood tall and teaming up with Lug and Scotty to give us some strong drive out of defence. The Sheriff and his deputy Poynton worked well together and both managed to score. The last was a slog with the boys starting 22 points behind. Through some real guts and determination they managed to get within a goal in the last but the Demons ran away in the end. Best of luck to Jacob Hore who plays his 50th senior game today. Congratulations Jacob.
MIDDAY SHOW - The boys had a big game ahead of them and weren't disgraced. After coming off a couple of good wins it was always going to be hard up against a strong side. To OC and his merry men, you guys have come a long way in the last 12 months. It's great to see that finally a group of fellas are starting to get together and enjoy a game of football together.
UNDER 14's - Our boys came up against a well drilled Dees unit and unfortunately the overall effort just wasn't there in the first half. Although the damage had been done on the scoreboard the boy's second half was a lot better, keeping the opposition goalless in the last quarter. Still we had some great individual performances, in particular both Jesse E and Daniel R who are rapidly improving in their first year of footy. Toby, Aden, Tommy B and Jared all had a red hot crack, while Zander and Connor Pags stepped up and had their best games for the year. Let's make sure we give 100% effort for the whole four quarters today in order to hold our heads high.
UNDER 17's - We were overrun by a very good team in the first quarter. But to our boy's credit they kept pushing themselves and we kept up for the next 3 quarters. Thank you to the 4ths boys once again for stepping up, we really can see the improvement in you boys and really contributing to our game. It was a great effort by Liam and Luke down back and a good effort by Hugh to ruck all day. A big game against Picola, let's go out there with the effort we put in over the last 3 quarters for the whole game.
We have a massive milestone over at the netball with Katrina Chellew playing her 150th A Grade game for the club. This is a huge achievement for Katrina, especially as she has had two children amongst these games. Congratulations Katrina hopefully you can have a win to celebrate.
