Last week we had great wins by our junior footballers and one junior netball team. The juniors seem to be flying the club flag at the moment which is a great thing to see, considering our grim last few years with our juniors. Unfortunately our seniors and A grade netballers were shown up on the day.
As we have now passed the half way mark of the season we have a massive challenge ahead of us to remain focused on the job at hand and to stick together. We have a great chance to play finals in a few grades which is a great position for our club to be in for our first year in the Picola League. This isn't going to happen without commitment from every player. Success comes through hard work. Reward comes through hard work. If we want to be successful in our quest to play finals it will take hard work. The challenge is there ......... let's take it. Let's commit to each other and commit to putting in the hard work. There is a lot of belief that we are capable but it won't just happen. It starts today, no matter what grade or what game. Let's get serious. Let's stick together. Let's be successful at all costs!!!
WINNERS MAKE IT HAPPEN ..... LOSERS LET IT HAPPEN!!!
With our trek to the Deni Rovers camp today I hope everyone is switched on ready to go. Let's see if we can bring some wins home. Our awards will be read out at the Terminus Hotel tonight after the game. If you have any meal vouchers tonight would be a good night to use them. See you all there to support one of our sponsors.
Under 14's - Last Saturday's game saw the boys switched on from the onset. Even after the early loss of Daniel R and James B, a combination of disciplined team work and some great individual performances ensured the boy's best win for the year, much to their delight. Jesse E, Jesse B, Drew, Will and Tom H all played their role to perfection, as did Daniel M and Tyrone. It was fantastic to see some of the younger players step up to the occasion, none more so than Tommy B who inspired his team mates with his enthusiasm, others to have a crack included Digby, Decklin, Toby and Blair while Connor C laid another rip snorta tackle that typified not only his courage and the teams effort for the day. With a little bit of self belief starting to creep into our Young Bloods, they will be looking for some similar results in the weeks ahead.
Under 17's - A great effort by the boys under difficult circumstances once again. Injuries are really starting to take its toll on our numbers. Once again thank you to Mitch, Jared, Jesse, Tom and Will for lining up for game number two, most weeks these boys have been playing two games to give us a hand. We would probably have to forfeit if it wasn't for you boys. Great job by Troy, Jarrod and Hugh for performing at senior level, most weeks of late these three have been playing two games which is a great effort. Cameron, Kaleb and Luke all played great games today.
All the best against Deni Rovers and also congratulations to Hugh Haynes who plays his 50th U/17's game today, all the best Hugh.
QUOTE OF THE DAY - Michael Jordan - "Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen."
