Under 14's - The boys played a great game today against a tough Cobram side. The boys applied good pressure to keep the ball in the centre but Cobram's height was just too much for our small boys. Thanks today to the Colston boys for playing with us.
Under 17's - Today's game was played in great spirits by both clubs. Thank you to Cobram for your support. The boys battled hard all day no more than best on ground Choco, his smothers and one handed marks in the back line were inspirational. Young Jesse Baldwin and Jesse Bunnett both played their best games for the year, they both played with precise skills. Buttsie battled hard all day at CHB and in the middle, his second and third efforts were a stand out. Congratulations today to Choco for his 50th U/17's game for the club. Well done Keiran!
Reserves - The 2's were keen for a strong showing with Perko, Jack and Haydos on time, Watmore back in a famous number and Ballsy testing the shoulder out. It wasn't to be with a couple of good players, the two Brads playing well and the thirds doubling up led well by Toddy and Robbie who both played solid games.
It was decided by the selection committee on Thursday night due to the lamentable behaviour from Thomson Snr the week before that letting the side down was good enough reason to make him unavailable for this week's team selection. Rumour has it that he is on his way to Yarroweyah to try his luck.
Seniors - The 1sts had a couple of late withdrawals elevating Jono and Brad from the seconds. A good start saw our runners - Johnny and Lee covering territory supported by Morgs, Daiks and Ash. Goals to Nathan (2), Daiks (1) and Big Red (1) gave the Bloods their best start for several weeks. The second quarter was tough defending against a strong breeze. Goals were hard to come by and Cobram opened up a gap late in the quarter. The third quarter started well with a goal from Whitey but Cobram had the answers with 4 quick goals in reply. Ben Lucas got one back followed by a snap from Leeroy. Cobram finished the stronger but good signs in the pressure area were shown from the Bloods against the top side Cobram.
A great night was had by all that attended the ball last Saturday night. A big thank you to Jeremy Cardillo for organising a great night. The decorations looked a treat.
