Under 14's - The boys had a cold and damp start to the day against a side of similar size. The young boys shaped up today with Luke, Jordan, Andrew and Jayden having a cracker of a game. Michael Pettit is improving each week in the ruck, so keep up the good work. Great work also to Josh Allan who finally got a great goal for the team. Good work and keep it up. I would like to say a special thanks to all of our parents for helping us out on game day. Without you we would not be able to put a side on the field. Rumba today boys, go Young Bloods.
Under 17's - Perfect conditions, the game started well. Both sides had plenty of the ball. Chris Patten was starring all over the ground racking up the possessions. Damian Todd played his best game for the year; his 2nd and 3rd efforts were fantastic, he was best afield. Young Steve Patten played another top game never giving up and running all game. Our Captain Jordan Haynes stood tall in defence also featured in our best players. Well done boys and keep your chins up.
Reserves - Today we welcomed back Greg "Fwd Pass" Watmore along with Crocky and Toddy up from the Under 17's. Bobby was solid all day with good support from Jono, Vanders, Harps and Toddy. The Bloods were no match for the Purps.
Seniors - The late withdrawal of Muggas gave Jono another game in the 1sts. Pica was the first to score for the Bloods followed by Johnny Shiels and a second from Pica kept the scores level halfway through the quarter. Piggy marked one surrounded by purple jumpers and finished off with a long goal.
The second quarter saw goals from Nathan and Ben Shiels before Nathalia got a couple back. Nathan got his 2nd goal late to make it 7 goals each at half time.
After a passionate plea from Coach White at half time the boys came out to finish the game off. Ben Shiels kicked his second to start the 3rd quarter, followed up with a goal to Ben Lucas, Nathan kicked his 3rd and then Josh "Big Red" Stammers marked and goaled to give the Bloods a small lead. A running goal from Johnny and another from Nathan and Ben Shiels had the Bloods with a handy lead at three quarter time.
Big Red goaled after a mark followed up with a long bomb from Leeroy. Jack Shannon popped up with his first goal in senior footy and the Bloods had a game winning score. Well done boys. Stick with it and a few more wins are coming your way.
Congratulations to Brad Perkins who played his first senior game for the club. Brad has played his entire junior footy with the club, with a knee injury side lining him for awhile. It is great to have him back playing footy with the club and being rewarded for his efforts with a senior game.
Congratulations to Ashley Pollard who played his first game with the Murray Bushrangers last weekend. Well done Ash.
