We would like to welcome everyone to this magnificent venue for what is the start of the Tocumwal Football Netball Club's 2010 season.
Well what a year 2009 turned out to be! We had both our senior netballers and footballers making the grand final, finishing the day with our senior footballers becoming the Premiers of the MFL. We also had Lee Warnett winning back-to-back O'Dwyer medals for the league.
On the football front, we have successfully recruited several new players to the club and have had a huge summer hosting functions up in our new rooms. The committee and volunteers have worked extremely hard in the off season around the club so we have all the signs of a great year and look forward to everyone joining in and getting behind the club once again.
Our coaching staff this year consists of: Lucas White, Jason Kerr, Stuart Roe, Ken Chellew, Jeremy Cardillo and Rodney Meloury. It would be good to see some support thrown behind these fellows and help make their year successful.
We would like to welcome all our new senior footballers that have come to the club and the ones that have returned again for another year.
We have had some motivated people working in the background in the off season to chase down some junior footballers for the club and they have had huge success. We would like to welcome all the new juniors and their parents to the club and hope you enjoy your time with us. We will be looking for help every week with little jobs that are need to be done to get the football teams onto the field, so please don't hesitate to come to the office or speak to a team manager and register your help.
Season 2010 will see Tocumwal with six netball teams: A, B, C, 17 & Under, 15 & Under and 12 & Under. Our coaching team consists of Rob Crow, Stacey Shannon, Leah Pate, Bob Bourke and Kaye Thomson. All have been training for a number of weeks and it is pleasing to see the commitment all teams are showing, the feeling is very positive and supporters of the Tocumwal Football Netball Club should get ready for a great season.
Welcome this season to the players from last year, players returning to the club after some time away and new players to the club, hopefully you will all have an injury free year and enjoy the success that comes from hard work and commitment at training.
We welcome the Congupna Football Netball Club to this great ground and facilities today. All the best for the day to all footballers and netballers participating today.
Please feel free to join us after the game in the clubrooms for a meal and drinks and listen to the first lot of weekly awards for the year.
