What a way to finish the season Blooders. The A Grade broke through for a well deserved win while the 11's & C Res Girls continued on their winning ways.
It was by far our biggest weekend this year starting with fantastic numbers on Thursday night, a big crowd on Saturday and Saturday night for the Krazy Karaoke and then finally the turn up to Sunday's Last Man Standing Draw and Family Fun Day was exceptional. Thank you all for your support, and particular the efforts of the committee and Carl Cummins for his coordination of the Last Man Standing Draw.
Under 14's -It was great to see that all the kids turned up for the last game of the season and thanks to Barooga for allowing us to have 10 on the bench. Although Barooga took an early lead the Toc boys were able to put together some great passages of play. When comparing to the beginning of the season the amount of confidence the boys have gained was evident. Their kicking and "hitting targets" was great, as was their marking. Rick and his staff have done a great job this year; the boys have really enjoyed the season. Thanks also to the fantastic parent support, without this it would have been a very long season. Hopefully 2013 will see a few more wins for these boys.
Under 17's - With the conclusion last week of our season it is pleasing to report the team held themselves together against a very tall Barooga. We had an overall effort from each player with some outstanding efforts from Aaron Morham, Josh Allan, Brad McCallum and "Gordo"! By the way - "Gordo" should come up OK in the team photo! Once again many thanks to our weekly award sponsors- very much appreciated. Also to our off field support crew - we'll catch up on Friday 7th September - Vote Count and Presentation Night. Look forward to seeing you all there.
Reserves - The Toc Magoo's had plenty to play for with their inspirational coach OC not only playing his 100th Senior game but also his last as the Two's Coach and his tears during his emotional pre-game speech said it all. Unfortunately there was no fairy tale ending with the boys valiant in their effort but unable to match the run of their opponents. Pagga turned back the clock in his 50th game, Busty Boobalina Bourke finished the way he started (out of breath), while the Frenchman Philippe, Hercules Herezo, Young Sniffa Daniel and Lucky Luke Fuller all continued their consistent seasons form. Just to note that Brad Gatty was cleared of any serious damage which we are all relieved.
Seniors - The senior game from the start was a free flowing game with our boys getting their highest score of the year but unfortunately let the Hawks get too many easy goals in the end. Again when you consider we had Aaron (another solid performance), Sniffa and Lucky Luke doubling up it was a fantastic effort and a great way to finish the year. Choco completed what has been a stellar year with his typical determination, Frank Perkins and Jacob Hore both returned solid performances both on the field and with the Krazy Karaoke. Mick Madden chimed in with 4 sausage rolls, Un Skinny Bop McCormack was very good particularly in the air while Crawf, Stevie Wonder and Benny Sniffa all finished what have been pretty good individual seasons.
