Under 14's - The Young Bloods played a good game last week against Finley with the small guys really getting in there and having a red hot go. We now only have two games to go so let's get to training and work hard and end the season on a high. We will be playing Barooga next week after the senior match. So get your parents along to support you and the football club.
Under 17's - A very good start today with Corey working out of the middle to Mudgy resulting in Troy kicking the first goal of the game. Once again a big thank you to the four Finley boys that came across and played the game with us. They played very well especially the two that played in the middle. Once again our fitness was the big factor so keep going boys only two to go.
Reserves - Finley started the first quarter off well. Toc got back into the game with a goal from Damo. Good hard work around the ball with Ben Phelan and Brendan Simpson with good work down in the backline with Bob and Matty Harper.
The second quarter started off with Finley having a lot of the footy in the forward line. Toc were trying hard with great pressure around the ball with Jordy, Ben, Abbo and Simmo.
The third quarter the skies opened and the rain came down! This made the game a real hard slog with everyone having a real go! In the fourth Toc didn't stop trying working hard around the ball and down back to go down to a good Finley side.
Seniors - The match started with a minutes silence for Allan "Yabby" Jeans wit both sides lining up. It was good to see some former team mates of Yabby's also lining up.
A break in the weather proved a great start with Nathan Tresize taking a strong mark but failed to convert. Stewie took some strong marks around the ground and a goal to Chappy put the Bloods in front by 4 points but Finley replied quickly to lead by 5 points at the first change.
The second quarter started with more intensity than the bubbles in a spa, but unlike the spa the Toc boys failed to score any majors and trailed by 43 points at the main break.
Toc began the third with most of the play with two minor scores and some strong play from Ash & TWG, and finally a goal from Shielsy. Things were looking more promising than the US economy.
The fourth started in a mud bath that Hugh Hefner would be proud of. Finley kicked the first goal but the boys answered it with a goal from Rhys and another from Sheilsy to bring the score within 33 points. Someone turned the temperature up in the spa and things got very heated, with the contest very even. Unfortunately we could not recover from the second quarter and despite some outstanding play from Stewie and young Morgs the boys went down by 54 points.
