Under 14's - Well the boys played a great game last week against Rumba. They ran well with the ball. Good work and goals by Kaleb. Cooper also kicking a great goal. The coach says every week boys it's time to get to training and work hard and the results will come.
Under 17's - A very good game for the year by far. A big thanks to the Rumba boys who all played well. Corey, Nato, Messy and Josh all played well. Once again thanks to the fourths boys for stepping up for your second game of the day, it's truly a great effort and greatly appreciated. Keep going boys, we have a big task ahead so take this form into the next game and you will do well.
Reserves - Well the old adage of "A week is a long time in football", is certainly true. Today the twos were strengthened by the return of some senior guys being Piggy, Daiks, Pica, Shanno, Cheech and Jordy. There were also some returns with Austa back after a long injury, Jossy and Benny Wilson who beat the clearance deadline to return home. Rumba started well with four goals with the Bloods best served by Piggy, Cheech, Jossy & Jordy in the ruck. Plenty of talk at quarter time with Pica and Bobby rallying the troops. Paga answered the call with a goal followed up by two from Skinny both after nice marks. In general play the Bloods were winning plenty of the ball with Austa, Cheech, Piggy, Skinny & Harps. The third quarter saw Rumba kick away early until Jakey McCallum hit Bobby on the lead to goal. Austa and Cheech continued good form with Harps, Redman & Pica down back with "jumper punch" Jordan having another good quarter. The Bloods left their best quarter to the last with Pica and Doc controlling the backline, Cheech, Austa & Jordy through the middle and Skinny two goals for the quarter.
Seniors - Last week we welcomed into our side Stuart Galloway and Hayden Woodward as well coming back from injury Coach Nathan, Captain Dave, Vice Captain Loges & Chappy and Bushy Ash. The Bloods started well with Coach Nathan and Johnny pumping the ball forward with goals to Chappy, Choco, Stewie & Morgs. The Bloods had plenty of the ball and had winners on all lines but wasted a few opportunities early. Rumba picked up their tempo in the second quarter and general play was very even. A good tussle between Dave and Rumba's full forward with honours pretty even. The Bloods lost Kieren to a hip injury which robbed some pace off the packs. Rumba having a good quarter with the Bloods goals coming from Ash with two, Stewie and Mickey Hare with one each. The second half started with the Bloods down a couple and needing them to play their best to hold out Rumba. The Bloods were getting good drive from Logie with Balraj on the end of three runs of play resulting in three goals. The score at three quarter time had only two points difference. Rumba opened the scoring to start the last and they had their confidence and running up and about. Rumba too strong and finished the better side. Full credit to the Bloods that finished the game undermanned with no bench.
