Under 14's - The boys had a tough start to the day with us coming up a few kids short. Our boys played a good game with the pressure in the first two quarters superb. Jordan Hicks, Hugh Haynes, Jayden Perryman all having good games. Corey Howell played well in the ruck. Keep up the good work boys.
Under 17's - A big thank you to Tongala for lending us two quality players who were two of our best on the ground. It was the best game the boys have played as a team, they ran in numbers and gave to the first option. Jake McCallum played his best game for the year on the back flank standing tall and creating plenty of run off half back. Jordan and Choco both stood up as senior players in the middle and never gave up all day. Well done boys on a fantastic game. We also welcome back Harrison Close to our team. Good to have you back Harro.
Reserves - The trip to Tonny was too far for a few and we were supported by thirds players Jake, Toddy, Thomo and Crocky. Mitch was back playing well with good games to Reece, Matty Miller and Matty Harper. Bobby had a tall ask all day supported by Jared and Brad rotating through defence.
Good play from Cannons to Jono resulting in a goal to Cleve after a "dish off" from Pagas gave the Bloods a sniff at three quarter time however Tonny had too many guns and were comfortable winners. Nice goals from Jared and Andrew and better players being Reece, Jared, Cannons and the two Matty's and once again Mitch was tireless in the ruck.
Seniors - The seniors welcomed Watty to the runner's role and Chappy to the forward resulting in early goals to Luke and Stammers. Tonny rallied with 4 goals of their own before Benny Shiels got his first, Tonny had the lead by a goal at quarter time. Tonny started the better in the 2nd with an early goal. A role reversal saw Chappy receive a 50 metre penalty to score his 2nd goal. Nathan scored his first to level the scores at the 20 minute mark. A roving goal from Rick and a 2nd to Nathan saw the Bloods produce their best 10 minute spell. Leeroy being the difference with a solid spell on the ball. The Bloods had their nose in front for the long break.
Tonny gained the early initiative to kick the first 2 goals before Chappy took a strong mark and goaled for his third. Josh held a nice pack mark and finished it off to score his 2nd goal. Chappy being a target up forward kicked his 4th followed quickly by Nathan's third. Tonny steadied their ship with 4 late goals in the quarter to hit the front. Coach White snapped one to gain the lead. Tonny had a sniff and their tails were up and bounced back with a goal to again take the lead. Nathan with his 4th gave the Bloods a 4 point advantage at 3 quarter time.
After 13 minutes of arm wrestling football it was Tonny that scored the first blood with 4 goals to finish the game stronger and claim the points.
