- 1910 - Gerald Evans - South Melbourne: Evans was chased by Sth Melb, but he "had more profitable & useful employement in the Moyhu district." Evans later died as a results of wounds he received in France in 1917 during World War One.
- 1921 - Eric Johnson - Carlton: Trained pre season with Carlton FC in 1921.
- 1921 - Ted "Spot" Johnson - Carlton: Trained pre season with Carlton FC in 1921.
- 1944 - Lionel Wallace - South Melbourne: Trained in May, 1944, but was moved to NSW with the Army. Later signed with Richmond in February, 1947, but never played VFL football.
- 1947 - Jack Andrews - South Melbourne: Trained pre season in March 1947
- 1960 - Maurie Farrell - Geelong: trained during Geelong's pre season in early 1960.
