Maurice James "Bumper" Farrell debuted with the Moyhu FC in 1952 and played in 3 senior football premierships with Moyhu in 1959, 1960 and 1962.
In 1963 Maurie changed clubs and was appointed captain / coach of Greta, leading them to 3 consecutive flags in 1965, 1966 and 1967.
Bumper holds the O&K record for the most number of senior football premierships as a player - six.
He also won an remarkable 8 club best and fairest awards with Moyhu from 1955 - 1960 and 1963 and 1964.
He retired after the 1967 premiership & finished his career with 301 senior O&KFL games.
The winner of the first game of the season gets to keep this Shield and display it in their clubrooms until it is won back.
