SENIOR TRAINING SESSION

Football: Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 pm (unless otherwise notified)

Netball: Tuesday and Thursday eveings from 6 pm (unless otherwise notified)

JUNIORS

Thursday evenings from 5 pm

FREE BUS FROM YARRAM

The club runs a free training bus from Yarram each Thursday evening (except during school holidays)

This bus leaves from the Vline bus depot (near the Yarram swimming pool entrance) at 4.30 sharp. Fiona Quilan is the bus driver.

The bus returns to Yarram at the completions of the junior training sessions (which will be about 6.30pm)

On free food nights the arrival time back in Yarram maybe 15 minutes later.

Holding court with the Wildcats

THE sun was shining at Woodside for our special Worksafe Game of the Month against Sale City. We had the pleasure of Sharelle McMahon and Elouise Southby coming to our small club. There were 40 young girls who attended a clinic run by these two former Australian netballers. They were also guest coaches for the A grade teams.

15&U Sale City 48 def Woodside 20
The team started the match strong putting four quick goals on the board, however this was short lived with Sale City putting their foot down. It was great to be tested by strong opposition, it has now showed us some areas we can really target and focus on for the games ahead. Keep up the good work girls and maintain your focus.

17&U Sale City 45 def Woodside 19
The 17's showed some fantastic passages of play during their game against a strong Sale City side. The second half of the match the girls strengthened and showed great spirit.

Keep up the good work girls it is definitely starting to show.

D Grade Woodside 37 def Yarram 18

Great game today girls. You all played very well and we had some lovely passages of play right down the court. Everyone of you gave 100%. We still need to watch our passing at times and ensure our leads are strong. Keep up the fantastic work d grade.

C Grade Sale City 30 def Wodside 28

The game was fairly even for the first half, but a third quarter slump saw the margin go out to 4. We managed to claw back 2 in the last quarter to only go down by 2. We had plenty of opportunities in the second quarter but were not able to fully capitalise on them. We need to concentrate on our passing and ensuring that when we create the turnovers that we get the resulting score. Huge thank you to Lauren Wight who stepped up from D grade and provided some excellent defence for us all day.

B Grade Sale City 46 def Woodside 38

We started off slow today but we can all be proud of how we played in the second half, fighting our way back to only lose by 8. Thanks to Emma Foat for playing with us this week.

A Grade Woodside 53 def Sale City 30

On a day with much excitement with the 'Work Safe Match of the Month' we were thrilled to have Sharelle McMahon as our stand in coach, she gave us some fantastic advice and tips. The match was played in lovely weather and at a high intensity and saw the inclusion of Goaler, Megan Garlick come in for her first A grade game this season and work beautifully with Hannah Buys in the ring. Best on court was awarded to Abby Pettitt for her solid defensive pressure at WD. It was a well played game by all and always happy to come away with the four points.

SERVICE POLICY

Our responsible service policy and thelaw do not allow us to supply alcohol to a person who is:

• under 18 years of age
• intoxicated
• supplying alcohol to a person under 18 years of age

UNDERAGE PATRONS ON LICENSED PREMISES

Persons under 18 years

• MUSTbe in the company of a responsible adult
• MUST be off licensed premises by 11 pm.
• MUSTproduce evidence of age documents when requested

LICENSE APPROVAL ALLOWS MINORS TO REMAIN ON LICENCED PREMISES WITHOUT A RESPONIBLE ADULT FOR:

Sporting & ancillary activitiesinclude training, coaching, attending team meetings, treatment of injuries, use of change rooms, completion of paperwork, purchasing or obtaining sports equipment, presentation functions , having a meal or refreshment .

This approval does not include SOCIAL EVENTS.

PURPOSE

To ensure that grievances / complaints raised by members (including members of the Committee), volunteers, stakeholders or community members are dealt with in a prompt and equitable manner

POLICY

It is recognised that people associated with the Club will from time to time have grievances or complaints that need to be resolved in the interest of maintaining good relationships. Woodside & District Football Netball Club believes that:

People have the right to have their grievances receive careful consideration through established processes that are timely and based on fairness and respect

The best resolution is one that is reached cooperatively and informally where possible prior to a formal complaint being lodged in writing

A person making a complaint or airing a grievance will not be disadvantaged in anyway as a direct result

Where a formal complaint is received by the Committee it will be considered in a timely and confidential manner and documented together with the steps towards resolution

PROCEDURES

Steps to Making a Complaint / Achieving Resolution

Speak to the person causing the problem and inform them of the behaviour, decision or action that the complaint or grievance refers to. Discuss possible solutions

Speak to a Committee Member for advice on possible solutions and/or intervention

Make a formal complaint in writing to the Committee

Seek independent arbitration if a suitable resolution cannot be reached

Refer the complaint to the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Industrial Relations Commission or relevant body.

Seeking Resolution

Where issues cannot be resolved informally, a complaints process will be adopted based on the principles of open discussion, confidentiality, fairness and respect, and timeliness.

Formal Complaint Procedure

A person who chooses to make their grievance or complaint formal must do so in writing to the Committee.

Once a formal complaint is received it will be referred to the President (unless the complaint directly concerns the President) for discussion and recording

Contact will be made with the complainant within 7 days of the receipt of the complaint

If another party is involved they will be fully informed of the full details of what is being said and a meeting will be established between the parties with a selected mediator

If the grievance is substantiated and unresolved the matter will be referred to the next Committee Meeting or if deemed more urgent, a Special Meeting will be called. This may also involve the parties concerned

The complainant and respondent will be informed of a decision in writing

If this does not result in a suitable resolution, or there is dissatisfaction with the handling of the complaint, the matter can be referred to another nominated independent person.
