Wedderburn Football club have appointed former Golden Square player in Luke Rosa asthe Redbacks Senior coach for the 2014 season. Rosa comes to Wedderburn with a wealth of experience and is keen to build on the good foundation set by the previous coach of the Redbacks in Daniel Gash, Gash will remain as a player and is keen to support Luke in his quest to keep the Redbacks at the top end of town in the North Central Football League.
Former teamates of Rosa's in Mark Lloyd and Nathan Bell have also committed to the Redbacks for the 2014 season. Other players joining the Redbacks include Tom McCarthy and Paul Prime from Sandhurst.
Wedderburn will be looking to defend the title they have successfully achieved over the past three seasons and will be looking to notch up a fourth premiership in as many years. If successful in their goal to win a fourth premiership the Redbacks would be the first team in the North Central to do so, but all involved at Wedderburn are aware that there will be a lot of hard work to be done in the lead up to the finals if they are to challenge for the Halfhide Cup and win title number four. With plenty of quality opposition in the league the task of collecting a fourth Halfhide Cup will not come easy and if we live on past performances then that achievement becomes a harder task to achieve, the ball is in the hands of all involved at Wedderburn to work hard to be successful in our endeavour to create history in the North Central Football League.
