New outdoor smoking bans for underage sporting events

An underage sporting event is a sporting event:
- planned in advance
- organised or intended for persons under the age of 18 years
- may be a one-off event or part of a series of events
Smoking will be banned at the following outdoor public areas:
- children’s playgrounds
- skate parks
- swimming pool
- sporting venues during organized underage sporting events
Smoking will be banned within 10 metres of an outdoor public sporting venue during:
- an organised underage sporting event
- a training session prepared for organised underage sporting event
- breaks or intervals in play during the event or training session
Sporting venue includes:
- a playing field
- a track
- an arena
- a court or rink
- any permanently or temporarily erected public seating at the venue
- any seating, marshalling, warm-up area, podium or other part of a venue
