We recently celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Tarwin Football/Netball Club.
From humble beginnings in 1987, where our girls had to play on the Middle Tarwin courts as our one and only court was under construction at the time and with only trees for shelter, to now, with 2 courts complying with Netball Victoria standards, lights for night time training and our recently opened brand new “Shark Shed” providing plenty of shelter for all teams and spectators.
All of these facilities have been provided in the main by Shire of Woorayl/ Shire of South Gippsland Grants, tireless Club fundraising efforts and many, many hours of volunteer labour and donated materials.
The facilities we enjoy today are a result of a number of peoples’ vision and commitment to the Tarwin Sharks - a number of whom have been involved since before day one. Without their drive and perseverance, we would not have these facilities and indeed, comforts to enjoy. Our Club has been used to host many Alberton Football/Netball finals over recent years- a testimony not only to our facilities, but to the great Club we are. We may be small in size, but not in heart or work ethic…something we wish to see continuing well into the future with YOUR help!
A big congratulations to our first ever life members of the Tarwin Netball Club Michelle Burggraaff and Carol Giroud, who recieved this award at our presentation night in 2012. We would like to thank you both for your continued contributions to the Netball Club without your support we would be the club we are today!
